One of the coolest presents I got this year for Christmas was a donut pan from Pampered Chef.  I love everything about it.  The color is vibrant, fun, and, as an added plus, it matches the other stuff in my kitchen.  I love donuts; they’re my reward for anything and everything.  I knew that I wanted this pan and I was beyond thrilled when I got it for Christmas.  It was like being a little kid and getting a new toy. Well… I mean it technically is something for me to play with, so I guess it’s exactly like that. I tried it out a couple days later with an apple spice donut recipe I found online from Sally’s Baking Addiction.

Now, I’m no great chef but I can follow directions and that’s just what I did.  This recipe was easy to follow and the donuts tasted great!  There was no attempt made to research different recipes or read reviews on the pan. All I had was a picture in my mind of an apple donut with powdered sugar. Selecting the option on google is not in my nature. I am a planner, a researcher, I make no decision lightly. Everyone who tried these donuts loved them. That just goes to show, sometimes the best thing is to not sweat the little stuff and just go with your first pick.

The only thing I did differently was the final step with the sugar.  I only coated half of the donut because otherwise the sugar drowned out the apple taste that I wanted.  Next time I think I’ll try putting some small chopped apple chunks into it.  I highly recommend this recipe, I’m definitely going to make it again.
